About Us/Dallas's Story

The Dallas Lamar Project is a registered 501(c)(3) community-centered nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families navigating the loss of a child.

Rooted in compassion, connection, and healing, we provide safe spaces, accessible resources, and culturally aware support for grieving individuals and families, particularly within Black and Brown communities.

Founded in 2026 and inspired by a deeply personal journey that began in 2011, The Dallas Lamar Project was created to bridge a gap that far too many families experience in their grief: the lack of accessible, relatable, and culturally aligned support during life’s most difficult moments.

We believe that no one should have to grieve alone or search endlessly for spaces where they feel seen, understood, and supported. Our mission is to create environments where healing is possible, community is present, and every story is honored.
Through support groups, partnerships, and community engagement, we are committed to building a network of care that meets families where they are and walks with them through their healing journey.
